seeds of destiny devotional for thursday 9th november, 2023

TOPIC: CREATING MENTAL PICTURES FROM SCRIPTURES

SCRIPTURE: By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible. HEBREWS 11:37.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Seeing the invisible makes it easy to believe the incredible.

MESSAGE

It has been established that when God wants you to do the incredible, He shows you the invisible. Seeing the invisible makes it easy to believe the incredible.

When the Church, Dunamis International Centre, was at our previous location, Area 1, Garki, Abuja, there were some slight delays with getting filled at some point.

Then I saw in Mark 2:1 that Jesus was in a house and it was noised abroad; and that because of that, there was not room enough to receive the multitude. Many people were gathered so much that there was no room left to receive more people. And He preached to them. This means that the people were outside. The place was not enough for them.

So, in my mind, I began to see the Area 1 Church jammed with people, and some standing outside. So, we put chairs outside for those people who would not have space to sit inside. We put chairs outside for overflow when the main sanctuary was not yet filled.

This was because I saw it in Scripture, and turned the Scripture into picture. If the Scripture says that there was no room around the door, it means that people stayed outside. It means that they filled the house to overflow.

Then I wrote the number of the expected attendance for each service everywhere. I put it on the celling of my bedroom. And I looked at it whenever I lay down to sleep. I put it on the wall of the toilet, on the fridge, on my reading tables, and forced the pictures to enter into me. When the picture settled, we began to see the physical overflows filled until they were completely filled. Then we had first, second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth services.

During conventions, we would have up to fourteen overflows.

Beloved, always understand that seeing the invisible makes it easy to believe the incredible.

Remember this: Seeing the invisible makes it easy to believe the incredible.

ASSIGNMENT:

  1. See pictures out of Scriptures whenever you study the Word of God.
  2. Make those pictures reality in your life.

PRAYER: Lord, I ask that You open my eyes to see pictures from Scriptures. I receive the grace to embrace the responsibility of making the pictures reality in my life, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: Keeping Faith Alive (Part 2).

QUOTE: Now I ask you, when demons see you, what picture of you do they have? What identity do they see in you? That is where the matter lies. Culled from the book, “Who Are You?” by Dr Paul Enenche.

DAILY READING: Acts 13-15.

AMAZING FACT: Your brain sets your perception. It uses sensory data to paint a complete picture of your world.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD: May you in this season begin to see as God sees. May the Scriptures begin to shape your future through godly pictures in Jesus’ Name.

Rhapsody of Realities Devotional For Thursday 9th November, 2023

Rhapsody of Realities Devotional for Thursday 9th November 2023

TOPIC: FAITH ALWAYS WINS

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses (1 Timothy 6:12).

MESSAGE

The Spirit, through the Apostle Paul in Ephesians 6:16, instructs us to use an amazing arsenal of the spirit—faith: “Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.” Your faith is a shield.
Observe the certainty of the Spirit’s communication: He says with the shield of faith, you shall be able to extinguish ALL the fiery darts of the wicked. So, don’t say, “Lord, the trials became too much and I didn’t know what to do, so I gave up.” No! Don’t quit. Don’t cower. Use your faith. Faith always wins.
It doesn’t matter how or from what direction the devil throws his darts at you; use your shield of faith. The “darts” could create some trouble or pain in your body; stand your ground. Extinguish all the fiery darts of the wicked with your shield of faith. And while at it, remember the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God (Ephesians 6:17).
The sword of the Spirit is the Word of God from your lips. It doesn’t matter the debilitating challenges in your life; don’t be quiet. Keep affirming the Word. Just as the Word prevailed in Ephesus (Acts 19:20), it’ll prevail over that predicament. Hallelujah!

PRAYER / CONFESSION
Dear Father, I refuse to be discouraged or overwhelmed by the challenges of life; rather, I see them as opportunities to exercise my faith and prove the power in the Word. My faith is the victory that overcomes the world. I neutralize, quench, put out, and extinguish the fiery dart of the adversary. The Word of God on my lips prevails in my life, family, city, and nation, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Open Heavens Devotional For Thursday 9th November, 2023

Open Heavens Devotional for Thursday 9th November. 2023

TOPIC: WHEN GOD COMMENDS YOU

MEMORISE:

The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.
Psalm 145:8

READ: PSALM 8:1-6
1 O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.
2 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.
3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:

MESSAGE

Every now and then, God commends His children; He tells them that He is pleased with them. When this happens to you, don’t become full of yourself because He is only being gracious. The Bible says that God is perfect and He expects perfection (Matthew 5:48). Ephesians 5:25-27 makes it clear that Jesus Christ is coming back for a bride without blemish or wrinkle. Are you perfect yet? If God says, “Well done, my son, you are doing great”, He is only being gracious. In Job 1:8, He said Job was a perfect and upright man, but then in Job 30:1, Job said things that a just man shouldn’t. When God scored him as just, He was only being gracious to him. In Numbers 12:3, it is written concerning Moses that he was the meekest man on the earth, but he was well known for his violent temper. God’s commendation is only an extension of grace. You must never let it get into your head; if you do, you would soon realise that you were nowhere in the first place.

The Bible says clearly in Romans 9:15-16:

For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

It is not the works and effort you put in that will make you justified. It is true that you must put in the effort; if not, you may not even get a chance at being commended at all, but the effort does not justify you. It is only God’s mercy that justifies you. Never forget that. When God commends a person, the fellow’s efforts will yield greater results than his or her actions. When you start seeing this happening to you, you must remember that it is only because God decided to have mercy on you. Don’t begin to think that you are perfect, because you are not. Rather, thank Him for His mercy. Acknowledge your weakness before Him and even before people. Ascribe all glory to Him and not to your efforts because without Him, you can do nothing (John 15:5).

KEY POINT:

God’s commendation is a call to be more humble and to work harder.

Though you are far away;
Wonderful story of love!
Still He doth call today.
Calling from Calvary’s mountain,
Down from the crystal bright fountain,
E’en from the dawn of creation;
Wonderful story of love!

seeds of destiny devotional for wednesday 8th november, 2023

TOPIC: MENTALITY: A DETERMINANT OF REALITY

SCRIPTURE: For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:… PROVERBS 23:7.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: If it is not real in your mind, it cannot be real in your life.

MESSAGE

It has been established that mentality is the determinant of reality. If a thing is not real in your mind, it cannot be real in your life. Things happens twice; first, in the mind, and then in real life.

For example, the structure, the Glory Dome was real first in the mind, and then, it became real on the earth. I had it in my mind before consulting a team of architects who put it on paper as an architectural design. Then the engineers – building, structural, mechanical and electrical engineers brought the mental picture into reality.

All truths are parallel. As it is in the physical, so it is in the spiritual. You must change your mind and become different from what is limiting people in your community before you can experience outstanding life physically.

In my own life, I have never felt inferior to anyone anywhere in the world. The Arch Bishop Benson Idahosa (of blessed memory) was a man who had a very healthy mind-set about himself. Whenever he traveled around the world, he never planned to change the way he talked. He talked to the whites the same way he talked to the blacks.

He always told white people, “You people must know that we the black people have faith in God more than you people. You people think because you have many good things, you don’t need God.”

Beloved, the point is, you must have a healthy mind-set about yourself to fulfill your destiny.

Remember this: If it is not real in your mind, it cannot be real in your life.

ASSIGNMENT:

  1. Go through today’s message again.
  2. Make up your mind to have a healthy mind-set about your life and destiny.

PRAYER: Lord, I ask that You deliver me from negative mind-sets and mentality. I ask that You give me a healthy mindset about my life as I study the Scripture, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: Keeping Faith Alive (Part 1).

QUOTE: When a man sacrifices towards the kingdom, his mentality will be kingdom-directed. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be. Culled from the book, “Who Are You?” by Dr Paul Enenche.

DAILY READING: Acts 10-12.

AMAZING FACT: The mechanics of the working brain are amazing. It allows you to do so many higher-order tasks.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD: Every trace of inferiority mentality be destroyed in your life today in Jesus’ Name. Grace to see yourself as God sees you is released in Jesus’ Name.

Rhapsody of Realities Devotional for Wednesday 8th November 2023

TOPIC: EVERYTHING GOD MADE CAN HEAR HIS VOICE

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature (mk 16:15).

MESSAGE

Isn’t it instructive that the Lord Jesus didn’t say, “Preach the Gospel to human beings only?” Rather, He said, “Preach the Gospel to every creature.” It means you can proclaim God’s Word to anything and everything around you, because everything has intelligence.

Everything God made can hear and recognise His voice. Jesus proved this to be true. He spoke to a tree and it withered from its roots (Mk 11:12-14, 20-21}. He spoke to maimed limbs, a withered arm, and even corpses. It brings to mind the sovereign declaration of almighty God in Matht17:5 when He said concerning Jesus, “…This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.”

Everything in heaven, in the earth, and under the earth, living and non-living, have been commanded to hear and obey Jesus. This also extends to us because He’s the head and we are His body. We live in Him—in His Name and in His authority. 1Jn4:17 says as He is, so are we in this world. We’re one with Him. Therefore, everything in life has been commanded to hear and obey us.

Remember the words of Jesus in Mk11:23, “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.” You will have it if you say it.

Prophesy and speak the Word to everything around you. Proclaim the Word to your money and the things you own. Put this principle to work and you’ll always have testimonies.

PRAYER / CONFESSION

Lord, I’m fruitful and productive, and my life is excellent. Everything and everyone that’s connected to me experiences the grace of God and are influenced by your righteousness, glory and grace that I bear. Thank you for the glorious life of abundance and dominion that I have in Christ. Amen.

BEWARE OF PRIDE II

MEMORIZE

For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise. 2Corintians 10:12

Read: 1Peter 5:6

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

MESSAGE

Another way by which a person exhibits pride is by comparing their achievements with those of others. Our Bible reading yesterday

(1Kings 19:13–18) showed us that God asked Elijah to anoint his replacements. There is a big lesson to be learnt there. You must never have a ‘holier than thou attitude’ or feel you are doing better than others. You may be more talented or hardworking; however, you must remain humble at all times. The point at which you become proud is where your rising stops. King Saul is another example of this

(1Samuel 15:25-30).

Our Bible reading today tells us clearly that our humility is required before God promotes us. In other words, once you become proud, you become too heavy for God to exalt. You cannot rise without the grace of God, so remain humble, no matter how much you think you have already achieved (James 4:6).

The word of God says clearly that those who compare themselves among themselves are not wise (2Corinthians 10:12). There is only one true judge and that is God. The teacher is in the best position to see his or her students’ mistakes. For example, if we were to ask Joshua, “How well have you done?” he most likely would have said, “Extremely well” since he achieved what Moses could not. However, God said:

Thou art old and stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed.

Joshua 13:1

God was essentially saying that Joshua failed because he could not finish his job. Don’t ever think that you are perfect because, if we were to count iniquity, no one would be able to stand (Psalm 130:3). Just thank God for how far He has brought you and pray for others around you. Nobody is better than the other; we must prefer one another in honour (Romans 12:10).

Key Point:

Once you start comparing your achievements to that of others, you stop growing.

Bible in One year:

John 16-17

HYMN:

  1. In Christ alone my hope is found

He is my light, my strength, my song

This Cornerstone, this solid ground

Firm through the fiercest drought and storm

What heights of love, what depths of peace

When fears are stilled, when strivings cease

My Comforter, my All in All

Here in the love of Christ I stand

  1. In Christ alone, who took on flesh

Fullness of God in helpless Babe

This gift of love and righteousness

Scorned by the ones He came to save

‘Til on that cross as Jesus died

The wrath of God was satisfied

For every sin on Him was laid

Here in the death of Christ I live, I live

  1. There in the ground His body lay

Light of the world by darkness slain

Then bursting forth in glorious Day

Up from the grave He rose again

And as He stands in victory

Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me

For I am His and He is mine

Bought with the precious blood of Christ

  1. No guilt in life, no fear in death

This is the power of Christ in me

From a life’s first cry to final breath

Jesus commands my destiny

No power of hell, no scheme of man

Could ever pluck me from His hand

‘Til He returns or calls me home

Here in the power of Christ I stand

Dunamis Seeds of Destiny Devotional For Tuesday 7th November, 2023

Dunamis Seeds of Destiny for Tuesday 7th November, 2023

TOPIC: MENTAL TRANSFORMATION

SCRIPTURE: And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Romans 12:2

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The transformed life is a product of a renewed mind. When your mind is renewed, your life must be transformed.

MESSAGE

Our anchor Scripture reveals that our lives are transformed when our minds are renewed. The transformed life is a product of a renewed mind. When your mind is renewed, your life must be transformed. This means, an untransformed life is a product of an un-renewed mind.

In Scriptures, we understand that the children of Israel remained in captivity in their mind even though they were liberated physically from Egypt. They could not grasp the reality of liberty. They became like slaves that fell in love with their chains. The chains on their legs got transferred to their minds
You see, there are many people whose afflictions have settled in their minds. God has delivered them from their sicknesses and given them breakthroughs in life, but the shadow of their previous bondage or predicament has hindered their total deliverance. My counsel is, renew your mind with the Word of God always to experience total victory in life.

Remember this: The transformed life is a product of a renewed mind. When your mind is renewed, your life must be transformed.

ASSIGNMENTS:

Refuse to be mentally bound.
Renew your mind with the Word of God always for the transformation of your life.
PRAYER: Thank You Lord for Your Word to me today. I ask for the grace to renew my mind always by Your Word for the transformation of my life, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: KEEPING FAITH ALIVE (PART 1).

QUOTE: Garments define mentality. The way a person thinks and reasons, is affected by the way he appears. A scattered mind will have a scattered appearance. Culled from the book, “WHO ARE YOU?” by Dr Paul Enenche.

DAILY READING: Acts 7-9

AMAZING FACT: You use more than 10 percent of your brain. In fact, your whole brain is working most of the time. That’s the only way your complex body runs smoothly and you stay safe.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD: Every mental chain in your mind be broken today in Jesus’ Name. As you consciously begin to renew your mind with the Word, grace to experience the transformed life is released in Jesus’ Name.

Rhapsody of Realities Devotional for Tuesday 7th November 2023

TOPIC: BROUGHT TO NOUGHT

Since then the children are sharers in flesh and blood, he also himself in like manner partook of the same; that through death he might bring to nought him that had the power of death, that is, the devil (Hebrews 2:14 ASV).

MESSAGE

When you bring something to nought, it means you make it useless, bring it to zero, nix, nothing! That’s what Jesus did to the one who had the power of death, that is, the devil. This is something very crucial for every Christian to grasp: the Lord Jesus Christ, through His death, brought Satan to nought; He crushed him!

Paul in Colossians 2:15 reiterates this as he paints for us the picture of how Jesus engaged Satan in that awful combat in hell and defeated him and all the cohorts of darkness: “And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.” The Conybeare translation says, “He disarmed the principalities and the powers, which fought against Him….”

The principalities and powers are disarmed, completely rendered powerless; they’re brought to nothing. Hallelujah! In 1 Corinthians 2:6, the Moffatt translation reveals an intriguing truth. It says, “We do discuss ‘wisdom’ with those who are mature; only it is not the wisdom of this world or of the dethroned Powers who rule this world.”

This brings to light the reality that although these powers may hold sway in the earthly realm, they’ve been dethroned in the spiritual realms. Thus, the true power in this world resides in the matchless Name of Jesus.

No wonder the Bible says, “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth” (Philippians 2:9-10). The authority vested in His Name extends over all things. Every one of us has the privilege to employ that Name and access its inherent power. Use it against Satan, the forces of darkness and challenging circumstances, and they’ll respond to you.

PRAYER / CONFESSION
Thank you Father for the privilege to use the most awesome and powerful Name of Jesus to effect changes in my life and in my world. I rule and reign over Satan and the principalities of darkness, rejoicing in the triumph and authority of Christ, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Open Heavens Devotional For Tuesday 7th November, 2023

Open Heavens Devotional for Tuesday 7th November. 2023

TOPIC: BEWARE OF PRIDE

MEMORIZE:
Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. Proverbs 16:18

Read: 1 Kings 19:13-18
13 And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave. And, behold, there came a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah?
14 And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: because the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.
15 And the LORD said unto him, Go, return on thy way to the wilderness of Damascus: and when thou comest, anoint Hazael to be king over Syria:
16 And Jehu the son of Nimshi shalt thou anoint to be king over Israel: and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abelmeholah shalt thou anoint to be prophet in thy room.
17 And it shall come to pass, that him that escapeth the sword of Hazael shall Jehu slay: and him that escapeth from the sword of Jehu shall Elisha slay.
18 Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.

MESSAGE

In our Bible reading for today, you will see that God told Elijah to anoint three people to replace him. This is because you can see pride in Elijah’s response when he says, “And I, even I only, am left…”. There is only one “I AM” and that is God Himself (Exodus 3:14). This is why, when Jesus Christ called Himself ‘I AM’ in John 8:58-59, the Jews were furious that He compared Himself to God. Of course, at that time, they did not know about John 1:1 and 14, which says Jesus is God who became flesh and dwelt amongst us. The name I AM must be reserved for God and God alone.

When you search the Scriptures, you would discover that the words ‘I’, ‘me’, ‘my’, ‘mine’ are the languages of pride. That was the language of Satan in Isaiah 14:12-15. When you find someone always saying ‘I’, ‘my’, you know you are most likely dealing with a proud fellow. Beware of this because the higher you go, the greater the risk of you saying ‘I’, ‘my’, ‘me’ all the time.

We see an example in the strong and anointed man of God called Samson. In Judges 15:14-16, where the power of God came upon him and he killed thousands of soldiers with a jaw bone, he said, “With the jawbone of an ass, heaps upon heaps, with the jaw of an ass have I slain a thousand men”. There was no, “Thank You, Lord” to the One who sent down the power; it was all about himself. Even when God had clearly restored his strength in Judges 16:25-28, when the enemies had caught him and plucked out his eyes and he wanted to pray just one more prayer before dying, what did he say?

And Samson called unto the LORD, and said, O Lord God, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes. Judges 16:28

It was about him all the way. That is why, as strong and anointed as he was, he fell so low that he ended up blind and grinding corn for his enemies before dying with them.

Key Point:
Beware of pride because it can make you fall so low that your enemies would begin to rejoice over you.

Bible in One year:
John 13-15

HYMN:
1. Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.

2. Through many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
’Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.

3. The Lord has promised good to me,
His Word my hope secures;
He will my Shield and Portion be,
As long as life endures.

4. Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.

5. The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, who called me here below,
Will be forever mine.

6. When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’d first begun.
