Rhapsody of Realities for 20th September 2023

Rhapsody of Realities Devotional for Wed. 20th Sept. 2023

Rhapsody of Realities 20th September 2023: It’s a Life of Joy

SCRIPTURE: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory (1 Peter 1:8).

Our spirit-filled life is one of indescribable joy, irrespective of circumstances. The Word declares, “The kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit” (Romans 14:17).

It’s one of the reasons God tells us to be constantly filled with the Spirit: “And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit” (Ephesians 5:18). Imagine fi every member of the church is filled with the Spirit, and not with doubt and fear. Then you’d understand what true Christianity is; it’s a life of joy.

Imagine everyone coming into the church meetings singing and praising God with joy and carrying that same atmosphere everywhere. That’s how it ought to be. When you’re filled with the Spirit, your joy overflows.

The Bible says the joy of the Lord is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10). Your spirit will continually be energized for victory and success when you’re full of joy. Joy is an elixir. Moreover, the Bible says in Isaiah 12:3, “Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.”

So, in spite of the things happening in the world today, be full of joy every day, and express it in the liberty of the spirit.

CONFESSION: Dear Father, thank you for the blessing of being continually filled with the Spirit for an all-day, all-time life of victory and dominion! I’m forever joyful, jubilant, triumphant and delighted in the Spirit for a life of peace and joy in the Holy Ghost! To you be all glory and dominion forever, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

FURTHER STUDY:

Psalm 5:11 – But let all those who take refuge and put their trust in You rejoice; let them ever sing and shout for joy, because You make a covering over them and defend them; let those also who love Your name be joyful in You and be in high spirits.

Philippians 4:4 – Rejoice in the Lord always [delight, gladden yourselves in Him]; again I say, Rejoice!

1 Thessalonians 5:16 – Be happy [in your faith] and rejoice and be glad-hearted continually (always);

Dunamis Seeds of Destiny Devotional for Wed. 20th September 2023

Dunamis Seeds of Destiny for Wed. 20th Sept. 2023

Topic:  “Giving – a Proof of Love

Scripture:  1 Kings 3:3-4.

And Solomon loved the LORD, walking in the statutes of David his father: only he sacrificed and burnt incense in high places. And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar.

Thought for The Day: Your love for God is proved by your giving to God.

MESSAGE

A young man met me in my office some time ago. He said to me, “Sir, I remember you pulled me out from the crowd in a special program we had in church many years ago. The program was titled ‘A September to Remember’ and the date was 09/09/99. You prophesied that I would be a commander and controller of resources.”
Then he continued, “That prophecy came to pass and in excess.”
Today, that young man has many people working under him. There are people working under him that receive income in millions of Naira every month. His own income is in six figures daily. He is very rigid and faithful in covenant practices.
He told me, “I do not want any negative story around my life. I want the account details of the church so I can make monetary transfers any time. I do not want to give any form of excuse for not paying my tithe. I want to do these things very faithfully because there are many enemies today. I want to be securely under cover. I do not want to leave my life to chance.” That is wisdom!
Beloved, passion or heart for giving is also a proof of love for God. When you love God, you are a natural giver, or an effortless giver to His cause in the earth.
Today, I see people or workers in church who are so busy with the Work of God. But when it is giving time, they just ignore it as if they are not aware. When I see people act like that, I know that they do not understand. That is not wisdom at all.
God proved His Love for us by giving (John 3:16). Solomon loved God and he gave massively (1Kings 3:3-4). In love, there is giving. Your love for God is proved by your giving to God.

Open Heavens Devotional for Wed. 20th Sept. 2020

Open Heavens Devotional for Wednesday 20th sept. 2023

DATE: WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 20TH 2023

TOPIC: GOD’S EVERLASTING ARMS

MEMORISE:
“The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.” – (Deuteronomy 33:27)

READ: 1 Samuel 2:6-9 (KJV)

6 The LORD killeth, and maketh alive: he bringeth down to the grave, and bringeth up.

7 The LORD maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up.

8 He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD’S, and he hath set the world upon them.

9 He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail.

MESSAGE:

God’s arms are everlasting (Deuteronomy 33:27), so when He begins to lift you, no one can bring you down. When human beings promote you, they never want to put you on the same level as themselves. In Genesis 39:1-5, Potiphar promoted Joseph and put him in charge of everything in his house, but he was still a slave.

And Jonathan stripped himself of the robe that was upon him, and gave it to David, and his garments, even to his sword, and to his bow, and to his girdle. (1 Samuel 18:4)

Jonathan gave David many gifts because he loved him but did not give him his shoes. In those days, no matter how much you give to a man, you can collect those things back if you don’t give him your shoes (Ruth 4:7-8). Also, servants never wore shoes. Thus, Jonathan was telling him, “I love you greatly, but don’t forget that I am a prince and you are an ordinary citizen in this kingdom”.

Another thing you can learn from the story of Joseph is that if human beings promote you, they can also bring you down. It is the same Potiphar who made Joseph the head of all his slaves who later threw him in prison. Those shouting ‘Hosanna’ today may shout ‘Crucify him’ tomorrow. When God decided to promote Joseph, He brought him to a level so high that even Potiphar – his former slave master, had to bow before him. The Most High will promote you and very soon, all those who have been oppressing you will bow before you, in Jesus’ name.

The Almighty God took David – who was a shepherd boy, made him a king and kept on promoting him until he became the father of the King of kings (Revelation 22:16). This is a classic example of God lifting a fellow with His everlasting arms.

Do you know that if God decides to promote you, even after you are dead, the promotion continues? God however, will not lift the proud in His everlasting arms. You must surrender your life totally to Jesus and humble yourself before Him if you want Him to promote you (1 Peter 5:6).

KEY POINT:
Be humble so that God can promote you with His everlasting arms.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: OBADIAH 1

AUTHOR PASTOR E A ADEBOYE

HYMNAL: 10 – IN CHRIST ALONE

1. In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground,
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace,
When fears are stilled, when striving cease,
My Comforter, my All in All,
Here in the love of Christ I stand.

2. In Christ alone who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless Babe
This gift of love and righteousness,
Scorned by the ones He came to save
‘Til on that cross as Jesus died,
The wrath of God was satisfied,
For every sin on Him was laid,
Here in the death of Christ I live.

3. There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day,
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory,
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me,
For I am His and He is mine,
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.
